The structure
Polyester repair: damage in the structure
Once the laminate itself is open it is no longer a cosmetic problem but a structural one. The damage is ground back to sound material, laminated again in layers and brought back to strength, and only then comes the finish. This work needs a steady temperature and a dust-free space, which is why it goes to the workshop.

Crack or hole in the hull
A knock against a pile while berthing, or run aground. Structural repair of the laminate.
Leak with no visible damage
Water in the bilge while nothing looks broken. Usually skin fittings, seams or keel bolts.
